Dwa tygodnie na plaży czy w hotelu all inclusive to jeszcze ok, ale już codzienne życie, praca, zakupy, to zdecydowanie zbyt wyczerpujące. A dla nas? Mieszkaliśmy już w Libii, gdzie część roku jest znacznie cieplejsza (tak do 40 stopni) a część znacznie zimniejsza (czasem nawet ledwo ponad 10 stopni w dzień). Tylko że nie jest wilgotno, więc upały tak bardzo nie doskwierają. Tamten klimat nam mocno odpowiadał, ale ten też jest super. Jasne, że kilometrowy spacer z plecakiem kończy się potokiem potu po plecach, to jednak warto pamiętać, że jak byśmy tu mieszkali, skończylibyśmy z chodzeniem i przesiedlibyśmy się na skutery. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii? To wpaść w szpony klimatu… Poza tym, kupowaliście kiedyś w Tajlandii chusteczki do nosa? Da się, ale to jakiś cięty papier toaletowy, który do niczego się nie nadaje. Naród, który nigdy nie miał potrzeby, żeby wymyślić porządne chusteczki do nosa, to musi być naród szczęśliwy… 2) Skutery O antyskuterowym hejcie w internecie już pisaliśmy. Dalej podkreślamy, że doświadczenie w jeździe skuterem po Tajlandii mamy zaledwie kilkudniowe. Ale ruch drogowy jesteśmy w stanie porównać z np. Polską czy Libią. W Tajlandii naprawdę jeździ się spokojnie. Przede wszystkim nie widać piratów drogowych i większość użytkowników drogi jeździ, wbrew pozorom, ostrożnie i z ograniczonym zaufaniem. No i dodatkowo te fantastyczne trasy i widoki, kiedy wyjedzie się z większych miast… Kochamy jazdę skuterem po Tajlandii! Zamieszkać w Tajlandii, to… oglądać takie widoki ze skutera 3) „Ograniczona cywilizacja” Lubimy miejsca „mniej cywilizowane”, ale nie dalibyśmy rady w totalnym Trzecim Świecie. W miejscach, gdzie człowiek z zewnątrz, wyróżniając się kolorem skóry, musi codziennie targować się na nowo, by nie płacić kilka razy więcej niż miejscowy. Gdzie 100-kilometrowa podróż zajmuje kilka godzin. Gdzie internet to takie coś, co pomaga nadać fax i zamówić rozmowę międzynarodową. Gdzie porządny szpital można znaleźć tylko w stolicy, a klinika na przyzwoitym poziomie jest dostępna tylko dla wybranych. A drzwi do niej otwierają petrodolary albo rządowa rejestracja. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii, czyli w kraju cywilizowanym inaczej Tymczasem „ograniczona cywilizacja” to przyzwoite drogi i inne środki transportu. To niższe ceny niż w Polsce lub podobne. Kraj, gdzie „biały” jest inny, ale nie jest dziwolągiem, ludzie są przyjaźni, zaradni i nie marudzą (albo marudzą, ale my ich i tak nie rozumiemy). To miejsce albo z przyzwoitą publiczną służbą zdrowia, albo prywatną opieką w rozsądnej cenie. To miejsce z międzynarodowymi szkołami, gdzie moglibyśmy posłać swoje dzieci. To miejsce bez posterunków na głównych skrzyżowaniach, transporterów opancerzonych na rogatkach i zastanawiania się, czy odgłosy wystrzałów w oddali to kolejne wesele, czy może walki gangów lub politycznych milicji. Za starzy i za bardzo dzieciaci już jesteśmy na takie przygody. Stąd, to kolejny powód, by zamieszkać w Tajlandii. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i cieszyć się naturą 4) Natura Soczysta zieleń, góry, piękne plaże. Można by zachwycać się na dziesiątki tysięcy znaków, ale i tak byłyby to same truizmy, więc nie będziemy tego ciągnąć dalej. 5) Jedzenie na mieście Wszędzie, tanio, smacznie zdrowo. Ale z pewnym ale – patrz punkt pierwszy, dlaczego nie moglibyśmy zamieszkać w Tajlandii. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i jeść codziennie na mieście Co na zniechęca do tego, by zamieszkać w Tajlandii? 1) Jedzenie Tak, tak. Jedzenie w Tajlandii jest fantastyczne. Dziesiątki potraw, których nie potrafimy nazwać, zupy, które chyba są wariacją tej jednej, do tego lody i słodycze w dziwnych smakach, które czasem wcale nie okazują się słodyczami tylko wypieczonym tłuszczem wieprzowym. Fajne na kilka tygodni wakacji, obawiamy się jednak, że na dłuższą metę zaciążyłby polskie korzenie, potrzeba dobrego pieczywa, sera (i w ogóle nabiału), wędlin… Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i nie jeść pieczywa? 2) Język Może tłumaczami przysięgłymi nie zostaniemy, ale kilka języków w lepszy lub gorszy sposób opanowaliśmy. Tajski to jednak inna bajka. I nie chodzi nawet o tą słynną tonowość. To język, który nam po prostu nie wchodzi. Głupie „dzień dobry” i „dziękuję”, wyrażenia łapane w 5 minut na granicach różnych krajów, tu nie mogły nam wejść do swobodnego użytku przez dwa tygodnie. Niby ich używaliśmy, ale sztucznie i bez przekonania, i jesteśmy pewni, że nie brzmiały dobrze. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i nie móc się dogadać? 3) Toalety Tak, wiemy, że azjatycki sposób korzystania z toalety, zwany też w kraju na Wisłą „sposobem na Małysza”, jest najbardziej optymalny fizjologicznie i higienicznie. Nie wiedzieliście? Naprawdę są na to badania! Papiery i siadanie to tylko przenoszenie zarazków i podrażnianie tego i owego. Ale mamy w życiu trochę niezdrowych przyzwyczajeń, z których nie chcemy rezygnować. Z toaletami na wakacjach nigdy nie jest łatwo. Kiedyś do łez ubawiła nas syryjska instrukcja, jak korzystać z toalety, która pokazywała, że na muszli się siada, a nie kuca. Pawłowi zdarzyło się niechcący i co prawda nie w Tajlandii, ale w Laosie dostrzec jegomościa, któremu owa instrukcja by się przydała. Gdybyśmy mieli zamieszkać w Tajlandii, to pewnie i tak skończylibyśmy w domu albo mieszkaniu z europejską toaletą. A jakby to był Bangkok, to na mieście byłoby pewnie bardziej europejsko niż w Warszawie. Jednak ryzyko i tak by pozostało… Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i robić „to” na Małysza Generalnie z toaletami w Tajlandii jest o niebo lepiej niż w takim Laosie, dawnej Syrii, czy choćby Libii. Jednak narciarz, brak bieżącej wody do spłukania pozostałości wizyty, czy trudno dostępny pseudo-papier toaletowy to dla nas problem. Zamieszkać w Tajlandii i mieć zachód słońca zawsze za wcześnie 4) Równikowość Kochamy słońce, ale lubimy też światło dzienne. Szarość Polski nas przytłacza, za to nasz kraj ma ten duży plus, że w lato robi się ciemno dopiero po 21. Tymczasem Tajlandia to ostre słońce do 17-18, a potem pstryk i już jest ciemno. Sorry, takie mamy położenie geograficzne i każdy blisko równika ma ten problem – powiedziałaby pewnie tajska pani minister. Z perspektywy polskiego stycznia wypadałoby powiedzieć: „ale macie problemy…”. Ba, z perspektywy polskiego stycznia równikowość wpada do plusów:) 5) ??? No właśnie, jakkolwiek mocno byśmy się nie wysilali, to nie jesteśmy w stanie wymyślić piątego punktu, by nie zamieszkać w Tajlandii. I tak poprzednie były trochę na siłę. Przesycenie wielu miejsc turystami, problemy biurokratyczne przy osiedleniu/załatwianiu pracy, trudna współpraca z „lokalsami” czy to w pracy dla kogoś, czy przy własnym biznesie, nic z tego nie zasługuje na oddzielny punkt, bo większość krajów drugiego i trzeciego świata można tak opisać. Brak piątego punktu jest więc mocnym szóstym punktem za tym, by jednak zamieszkać w Tajlandii:)
